Job Description

Gardewine is a Manitoba company, with terminals across Canada and a strong history that dates back to the 1950’s. We are currently seeking a Forklift Operator in our Winnipeg Head Office to join our team.SummaryThe forklift Operator is responsible for operating powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas and loading docks, into trucks or other storage areas.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Obtains copy of shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the warehouse
  • Load and unloading goods from trailers or other trucks
  • Move goods packed on pallets or in crates around the warehouse
  • Checking loads are secure
  • Stacking empty pallets
  • Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment
  • Practice and promote a safe work environment by following all safety procedures
  • Other duties related to goals of warehouse
Qualification requirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent with good math, language and reading skills to interrupt orders and shipments. Good record keeping skills for operation of equipment. Clean driving record and a valid license and Forklift certification per OSHA standards.Physical RequirementsRegular sitting on a powered industrial truck; lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time; have a good sense of balance with hand and foot coordination with ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights. Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.THIS IS AN AFTERNOONS, MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 2PM TO 10:30PM SHIFT.Quick Apply
