Job Description

Gardewine is a Manitoba company, with terminals across Canada and a strong history that dates back to the 1950’s. Since being founded in the northern community of Flin Flon we have grown significantly by diversifying within the transportation industry. We are seeking a Linehaul Day/Afternoon Dispatch Supervisor to join our team.The supervisor is responsible for ensuring the dispatch team dispatches equipment effectively using all resources to meet the customer needs. Other duties include:

  • Exemplifies a Leader in safety, participates in safety initiatives
  • Ensure positive customer communication
  • Leads, coaches and supervises dispatch team
  • Plan manpower and equipment needs for Linehaul operations
  • Discuss previous shift activities with dispatchers
  • Answer phone inquiries and resolve any operational issues
  • Track incident reporting and analyze statistics
  • Connects with terminals on pertinent information
  • Complete driver pay administration and manages pay discrepancies
  • Coordinate any maintenance requirements
  • Assist in coordination of any accident clean-up
  • Reports irregular activities
  • Engages in other tasks in support of organizational goals
The Supervisor Is responsible for leading and supervising dispatchers and driver operations as it relates to linehaul.Candidates, must have one to two years related experience in a similar position. Strong communication skills and able to work in a fast paced computerized office environment. Excellent organizational skills and time management proficiency to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Exceptional interpersonal skills to work independently and as a team player and provide professional customer service. Experience with linehaul activities (preferred) and/or general freight handling. Knowledgeable with Linehaul dispatch operations preferred. Excellent computer and telephone skills. Prior experience leading a small team.
