We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.NorWest Youth Hub - Youth Mental Health Community Counsellor Deadline extendedHiring for multiple 1.0 EFT (full-time) positionsTerms starting as soon as possible and going until March 31, 2022 (3-4 months term)An eligibility list may be created from this competition.Youth Mental Health Community Counsellors provide appointment-based and drop-in mental health support to youth accessing services at the NorWest Youth Hub, as well as co-facilitating support groups. Counsellors work with both internal and external partners in the operation of the NorWest Youth Hub.Hours for this position would roughly be: Weekday day/evenings in the range of 11:00am – 7:00pm; Saturdays from 9:30am - 5:30pm. Applicants must be available for the hours during which the NorWest Youth Hub is open, specific to the EFT posted.QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, including: Social Work; Psychiatric Nursing; Occupational Therapy (MOT); Counselling; or other. Registration with applicable College required.
  • Minimum one-year experience providing youth mental health counselling.
  • Experience working in community development and community outreach.
  • Knowledge of community resources and community development principles & practices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Empathetic, non-judgemental approach.
8. Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team in a variety of settings.9. Knowledge and experience with diverse cultures and economic backgrounds.
  • Experience working within an integrated youth services setting an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
Salary range: $30.830-$35.744 per hour.
