Job Description

General Accountabilities: Reporting to the Accounting Manager/Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk monitors and inputs data, reconciles client reporting figures, communicates with operations, manages the filing system, and otherwise assists the Accounts Payable Department. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for promoting the safety culture, adhering to all provincial and federal laws, KMC policies, internal controls and practices, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and uphold the values of KMC Mining.Specific Accountabilities:

  • Ensure timely payment of all KMC Mining vendors;
  • Review and ensure accuracy of all vendor invoices before posting to internal system called Explorer;
  • Prepare and send remittances to all vendors by cheque or EFT on a semi-monthly basis;
  • Review and input timesheets of subcontracted field labour;
  • Reconcile vendor statement and visa accounts on a monthly basis;
  • Prepare employee expenses and enter them into Explorer for payment;
  • Attend to and monitor vendor inquires in a timely manner and ensure that KMC Mining’s existing relationships are maintained;
  • Ensure high standard of time management practices by prioritizing tasks and allowing enough time to complete both routine tasks and urgent tasks as required;
  • Create ad hoc reports as requested;
  • Communicate with field operations to confirm accurate reporting and to address errors or miscalculations;
  • Reconcile client reporting with internal calculations to determine appropriate payment;
  • Contact clients to resolve discrepancies and inconsistencies;
  • Perform daily financial transactions; including, verifying, classifying, posting, and recording data; and
  • Other duties as assigned from time-to-time.
Job Qualifications: Formal Education *· High School Diploma.· Post-Secondary Education is preferred.Work Experience· 2 years of related occupational experience.Technical Skills· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.· Strong verbal and written communication skills.· Ability to pay attention to detail, use abstract problem solving, and analytical thinking .· Strong results orientation.· Knowledge of mining technology and heavy production equipment considered an asset.· Ability to work in both a team environment and independently.· Strong conflict management skills.*Note: other combinations of education and experience will be considered.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $22.00-$26.00 per hourBenefits:
