Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Compensation, the Compensation Analyst will collaborate with various partners to advance the transformation of the compensation practice. This valued member of a highly agile and transformative HR team will add value to the organization by contributing research and analysis finding to the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs. This compensation champion will derive important data insights to inform decisions aimed to implement compensation programs that align with strategic objectives and enhance employee experience.This role offers the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Market Research & Compensation Analysis (60%):

  • Participate in surveys and conduct market research to monitor trends.
  • Prepare data-based recommendations for employee, role, and unit reviews.
  • Produce a variety of reports to support HR and Leader data-driven decision-making.
Job Evaluation (10%):
  • Partnering with HR and the business to provide guidance on the application of Hay methodology to effectively evaluate the job.
  • Apply knowledge of company positions and structure to contribute insights and high-level support to organizational design reviews.
Compensation Administration (20%):
  • Review requests for compensation or incentive changes against internal equity, external market data and ensure that recommendations are in line with policy.
  • Partner with Payroll, Finance, and HR to administration of regular cycle activities, including annual salary and hourly compensation cycle, and incentive administration.
  • Advising on the interpretation of SOP’s and practices.
Projects and Project Support (20%):
  • Support assigned compensation project work to research and/or implement changes or enhancements to programs to support employee attraction and retention, while complying with policy and legislation.
  • Develop or update process documentation, tools, and job aids to enhance the compensation experience for HR and the business and assist in the roll out and change communication.
QualificationsThis position requires 1-3 years’ experience with compensation or human resources, with progressive knowledge in all compensation-related and data analysis areas. The successful incumbent will also possess a degree or diploma in business, human resources, data analytics or a related field.
  • Compensation Certification (eg. CCP, GRP, ACCP) considered an asset
  • Experience with Hay methodology considered an asset
  • Advanced tool building and reporting in Excel, using data from multiple sources (eg: v-lookups, pivot tables, if statements, charts/graphs, etc.)
  • Solid business acumen and the ability to effectively navigate various levels of the organization through the application of HR expertise and effective relationship management
  • Excellent communication, writing and collaboration skills are necessary with the ability to work within a team and individually
