Job Description

At SMS Equipment, our Credit Administrator plays a key role in providing support to the Credit Team. The incumbent will be responsible for activities such as monitoring and collecting accounts receivables. This will be completed through direct customer contact, investigating credit requests and processing customer payments. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their experience, love for process and customer service to our growing team in Acheson AB.This position offers an office/hybrid working environment.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accounts Receivables. Reviewing reports to identify overdue amounts. Contacting customers on late payments and liaising with the appropriate branches to handle any disputes. Reporting any issues or accounts that exceed value limits to the Credit Manager. Preparing month-end dispute reports to relevant branches.
  • Processing Customer Payments. Processing direct credit card payments from customers. Completing daily cash reconciliation reports and providing back-up support to the Credit Assistant as necessary.
  • Credit Investigations. Completing credit investigations for new and/or increased credit limits as well as credit applications using external reports and evaluations. Set credit limits using eXtend system. Attend meetings as required to confirm customer account status with 3rd
  • Aid the Sales and Accounting team on projects as assigned. Escalate credit denials to the Credit Manager for review. Reconcile accounts and advise customers via credit notice letters.
Qualifications:Our Credit Administrators have between 3 – 5 years’ experience within a credit position.Additional experience includes:
  • Strong customer service skills dealing with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to work across multiple departments in a positive manner
  • Advanced knowledge of credit practices and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of legal governances pertaining to credit
  • Excellent computer skills to include the use of Microsoft Office and internal systems
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with attention to detail
