Job Description

Overview: Competently Operate and Maintain Horizontal Directional Drills of varying capacities.Working hours are 10 to 12 hours per day, typically Monday thru Saturday. Projects this year are currently planned to be in Stettler and Bonnyville.Drill capacities includes from 5,000 lbs rig to 20,000 lbs rig.Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain drilling equipment with a strong focus on safety and compliance with company drilling procedures
  • Ensure the successful installation of pipeline crossings with a strong focus on safety, integrity and client satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with OHS, company policies and provincial/industry governing bodies
  • Operate and maintain up to 20,000 lbs Directional Drilling Rig
  • Ensure associated equipment is properly operated and maintained by crew
  • Interface with clients, and project managers
  • Prepare and submit reports as required
Qualifications:
  • Pipeline and Utility HDD experience required
  • Minimum 2 years Drilling on similar sized HDD Rigs
  • Minimum High School Diploma, College degree an asset
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Professional, Electronic Data Recorders
  • Must have experience with DigiTrak F5 locating equipment, including data log
  • Must have an Alberta Class 1 drivers license or equivalent. Drivers abstract required
  • Member of Operating Engineers union OE955 as asset, or selected candidate must be willing to join OE955
