The field superintendent must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and client while successfully directing and construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget.*_CORE ATTRIBUTES & COMPETENCIES: _*

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the preparation of the project schedule.
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on budget and schedule and quality that conforms with the contract and specifications.
  • Ensure all crews are conducting proper cleaning and maintenance on equipment.
  • Ensure that all employees are correctly following all field processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of the project schedule and oversee the project to ensure it is on schedule and budget.
  • Have an up-to-date log of mat inventory at all times.
  • Oversee all Paradox yards and ensure all mats are sorted and racked properly.
  • Assemble the job site office, equipment and manpower requirements.
  • Have confidence in own ability to intelligently communicate with the client as well as effectively lead the team.
  • Rise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings.
  • Maintain control and responsibility for the security and operation of Paradox’s directly owned equipment on the job site.
  • Inspect and maintain quality execution of the project.
  • Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control.
  • Handle matters involving on-site issues regarding labour and equipment.
  • Maintain an organized job site, including the site office.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have an understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts.
  • Knowledge in the Earthworks industry.
  • Knowledge of pavement, gravel and construction is required.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as human relation skills.
  • Must be able to use creative and innovative solutions to design and implement projects.
  • Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test
  • Ability to pass a health assessment including a 50 pound fitness to work test.
