Overview:COMPANY PROFILEPrimoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and include services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.SUMMARYThe Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing internal combustion engines and components in both stationary and mobile equipment.Start Date: Monday, June 28, 2021Location: Acheson ShopResponsibilities:Ensure repairs are carried out according to the manufacturer’s procedures in a safe and responsible manner within the designated timeframeInterpret work orders and technical manualsKeep equipment clean, lubricated, and maintainedDiagnose faults and malfunctionsTroubleshoot and communicate equipment performance with mechanicsAdjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systemsTest repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufactures specifications and legislated regulationsWrite service reports in a timely and efficient mannerTrain and/or assist other technicians or apprenticesOther duties as required by managementMay perform other duties as assignedQualifications:Must be an Alberta ticketed journeyman (or hold a journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)Previous experience working on an industrial site is considered an asset, but not requiredCSTS-09 and/or CSOMust have experience with CAT pipelayers5+ years’ experience with Caterpillar equipmentFamiliarity with pipeline equipment is an assetAble to think logically, problem solve, and keep up with changing technologyFamiliar with parts and service manualsAble to work well in a team environmentMust be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the fieldOrganized and self-motivatedPre-employment alcohol and drug testing is a condition of employment.
