Job Description

TCL Supply Chain is currently seeking a Human Resources Representative responsible for Payroll to join the Human Resources Team. This individual will lead our onsite payroll administration at TCL Supply Chain. The incumbent will work closely with the Operations Team to drive accurate and on time reporting, and contribute to TCL being the Employer and Provider of Choice.Why work for TCL

  • TCL Supply Chain is located in Acheson, which is about 10 minutes West of Edmonton.
SHIFTMonday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm; flexibility in schedule is requiredDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review of data entered in computerized time keeping system to prepare biweekly payroll submissions
  • Complete site standard payroll activities, such as: calculating wage adjustments and retro-active payments, vacation calculation, entering wage updates as per the collective bargaining agreement, posting monthly seniority list, review of register for accuracy
  • Subject matter expert within online payroll system
  • Administration of terminations within the time keeping system and calculation of final pay
  • Performs standard administrative tasks, including answering phones, preparing reports, maintaining records, filing, and tracking information utilizing the available systems
  • Answers routine questions (via email and phone) from employees and management regarding payroll matters
  • Audits and processes payroll information submitted by Business Partner for accuracy, policy compliance, and completeness
  • Maintains confidentiality of employee and company data
  • Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A minimum of one year experience in time keeping system experience;
  • Industry related experience in payroll administration;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation), including the ability to interact with all levels of the organization;
  • Time management skills including the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a timely manner;
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office applications.
  • A University or College certificate in Payroll Administration would be an asset.

  • Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Employee Relations and Engagement
  • Serve as an advocate and counsel to hourly and exempt associates
  • Drive initiatives/activities in support of site climate and culture
  • Conduct internal investigations as needed
  • Ensure compliance with required regulations, policies, and laws related to Human Resources activities
  • Ensure the administration of audit activities for compliance within HR policies and procedures
  • Train management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
  • Provide feedback and coaching to managers, actively listen and ask searching clarifying questions in regards to associates
  • Assist with staffing, succession planning and associate programs and processes
  • Understand concepts related to compensation and benefits systems, processes, and employee communications
  • Administration of and action planning activities related to the annual EOS process
  • Administration of our performance management process
  • Enter and maintain data in HRMS system
Required Education and Experience
  • BS/BA degree in Human Resources or related field or minimum of 5 years HR experience, required
  • PHR/SPHR SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification, preferred
  • 0-3 years of experience in HR with exposure to all major functional areas of HR, required
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases, required
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices, required
