Job Description

A few of the many benefits of working with SMS Equipment include: competitive wages, comprehensive group benefits plan, and RRSP matching.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Support hydraulic hose requests from SMS branches for either stock request or emergency orders by:

  • Responding to customers to advise whether or not their order can be supported in an efficient manner.
  • Processing the information required to build hydraulic hoses, with all the required pieces to manufacture the hose assembly to be shipped.
  • During assembly, inspections are done to parts/pieces to ensure they are free from any defects or damages, eliminating failures upon installation, and providing a quality product.
  • Upon completion, assembly flushed, decontaminated, and sealed for shipping, to prevent any contamination during shipping until installed on the machine.
Data entry into eXtend system for service orders, invoicing and warehousing is all processed by:
  • Breaking down assemblies into piece parts, entering into service orders, and ensuring the correct pricing is present to prevent pricing discrepancies.
  • Invoice customers once pieces are entered into the complete assembly requested, complete by ensuring the correct invoice amount matches the customers.
  • Ensure data input is correct, and matches to what is actual, to prevent any shortage of parts, after the customer’s request has been processed.
Maintaining branches stock inventory levels, and that equipment is maintained by:
  • Checking eXtend’s ERP system on parts needing replenishment to ensure continued support for customers.
  • Adding parts currently not stocked to our inventory to grow and increase our support.
  • Keeping maintenance logs, and sufficient spare parts for equipment to ensure efficient and quality production by the branch.
  • Assessing emergency situations where required parts are not on location but incoming, and if necessary, process emergency orders in order to be efficient in supporting the customer’s request.
Qualifications:
  • Journeyperson Parts Certification would be an asset
  • Previous hydraulic hose manufacturing experience or relative training, and industry knowledge is considered an asset.
  • EXtend knowledge is an asset
