The successful candidate will work at one of our Civeo lodges located in British Columbia and the facilities operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Hence, the work schedule includes weekends and holidays. Rotation between job sites within Alberta and British Columbia may be required.Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the mechanical portion of facility maintenance in a remote location. Being a certified trade person, you will provide maintenance, repair services, and work with contractors as required. As well, you will install, repair and maintain pipes, fixtures and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in the remote facilities, modular types of structures and other premises. The successful candidate must follow applicable building safety codes focusing on safety, quality and accuracy of wok and shall be adaptable to changing roles within the function. This is an hourly, permanent, full-time position.Key ResponsibilitiesRepair commercial kitchen equipmentRead blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systemsInstall, repair and maintain residential, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systemsAssemble and install valves and fittingsLocate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floorsCut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittingsMeasure, cut, bend and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machinesJoin pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipmentTest pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gaugesFollow all company, job and client-specific safety protocols and OH&S legislationQualificationsCertified Journeyman Plumber. Red Seal certification is required for trades out of province. Must have a valid Gasfitter-Class B certificateMinimum 5 years of directly related construction and maintenance experience in renovation, residential, commercial and light industrial settingsMust have commercial kitchen equipment experienceValid class 5 driver’s license with clean 5-year non-commercial driving abstractSpecialized knowledge and experience working with HVAC systems and kitchen equipmentMust have safety certificates, such as Fall Protection, Confined Space/Monitoring, Elevated Work Platform, and First Aid, Standard with CPRAbility to work physically and regularly lift up to 50 lb.Ability to work independently and as a part of a teamAttention to details, accuracy and strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skillsAbility to multi-task and effectively manage time to meet required project deadlinesAbility to interact co-operatively and professionally with customers and co-workersStrong focus on safety, quality of work and environmental awarenessFlexibility and adaptability. Worker must be able to travel to Northern British Columbia and work in the remote camp locations, work nights, weekends and holidaysMust be able to work 10 hours per day on a 14 days on and 14 days off (14/14), 14/7, 21/7, 21/10, etc. rotation schedule or other suitable work arrangement.For the successful candidate we will provide a great work environment and an excellent total compensation package.
