Job Description

Position Scope:Reporting directly to the Corporate Planning Manager, this position will be responsible for warranty claims for all capital component repairs, and non-capital component replacement/repairs. This individual will act as the main contact between NACG and its vendors for part and component warranty claims. The individual will work with various levels of maintenance personnel to compile the necessary information to document the investigation and resultant repair. They will then be responsible for managing the warranty claim from start to finish with the vendor as well as tracking the status of all pending, accepted and denied claims for reporting and analysis purposes. The position will be required to interpret and work with mechanical-related information, with the advice and assistance of internal maintenance subject matter experts.THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT OUR ACHESON OFFICE (WEST OF EDMONTON).Salary Range: $69,275.00 to $83,538.00 per yearResponsibilities:This position will require the individual to coordinate between multiple different departments at various levels and external vendors. The individual must be a detail oriented, confident, self-motivated, and ready to take charge of the warranty process. They will be expected to develop their mechanical/equipment knowledge and make decisions, while exercising good critical thinking.

  • Work with external vendors, on-site maintenance, and reliability teams to identify, track and process warranty claims for central shop component change outs and component repairs.
  • Assist site maintenance personnel with investigating warrantable components.
  • Identify and investigate trends and anomalies in warranty components through reporting.
  • Maintain regular reports tracking warranty claims in various status: in review, received, denied and outstanding.
  • Assist Long Range Planning team with ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Engineering; or
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Accounting or Business Administration, with a minimum of two years of business analysis experience may be considered as equivalency.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in heavy duty equipment industry.
  • Ability to meet quality, cost and schedule and reporting targets;
  • Some mechanical aptitude;
  • Basic knowledge of heavy equipment, with a mechanical aptitude are considered assets;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent computer skills and exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office programs;
  • Strong interpersonal skill set, with the ability to work with all levels of the organization and external parties; and
  • Strong analytical skill set and quick learner.
Summary:All successful candidates must:
  • Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
  • Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Have experience as requested as mentioned above
  • Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test
