Job Description

The Manager, Facilities is responsible to ensure that the SMS Equipment Acheson & Northview facilities, grounds and common areas are kept safe, clean, organized and in good repair. This position provides direction and guidance to the Facilities team to ensure tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner.Responsibilities:

  • Manage all day-to-day facilities operations, including but not limited to HVAC, compressors, Building Management System (BMS), plumbing, electrical, landscaping, etc.
  • Coordinate work, coach, and provide guidance to the Facilities team including reviewing FLRA cards and ensuring Safety is the #1 priority. Supporting the team in a tactical way when necessary.
  • Manage contractual relationship with external contractors.
  • Conducts regular, thorough inspections of all areas of responsibility, documenting and reporting as necessary.
  • Maintain the Facilities Preventative Maintenance Program, including but not limited to regularly inspections, program modifications, technology improvements, etc.
  • Ensures that building standards and efficiency are maintained or enhanced.
  • Special projects as directed
Qualifications:This position typically works a Monday to Friday schedule, 8 hours per day; however, may require longer hours to meet business needs. There is the requirement to carry a Company cell phone and be on-call periodically.The successful candidate will have demonstrated at least 5 years’ experience in facility management role where safety is a priority, with at 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
