We offer opportunities for qualified people who want to grow in our high-performance organization including competitive salary and benefits package, along with in-house training, an incredible work environment, and career advancement opportunities.Position SummaryPosition: Operations Finance CoordinatorJob Location: Acheson, ABThe Operations Finance Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks that support the business objectives of Canadian Road Builders Inc. (“CRB”) and will work closely with the Division Heads to meet all operational and financial deadlines and follow Colas Canada Inc. processes, procedures, and policies.Key Responsibilities

  • Positively participate in company safety program and adhere to all safety requirements
  • Directly assist division managers and front-line leaders with systems reports, setups and inquiries
  • Assist in completing month-end financial packages in a timely manner as required by Colas Canada Inc.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy and compliance with internal and external policies, including monitor forecast accuracy, understand drivers of variances, and provide commentary for the same
  • Work with each division to continuously track budget progress
  • Identify and implement opportunities to resolve finance issues, improve, scale, or simplify finance and reporting tools, technology, and processes across the operations group
  • Act as a systems and processes resource and provide support as required
  • Monitor the effectiveness of action plans provided by Controller and Leadership Team
  • Assist with monitoring of financial controls

  • Assist with preparation and presentation of budgets
  • Assist the Controller with preparation of daily/weekly/monthly reports and distribute to management as required
  • Review expense reports for accuracy
  • Complete new vendor forms and credit applications
  • Monitor holdback accounts and coordinate application packages
  • Assist with Equipment setup and maintenance in JDE
  • Maintain confidentiality of operations and financial information
  • Communication of new or updated processes when requested
  • Manage contracts documentation
  • Support Operational Management to add value in operational and financial decision making
  • Build effective working relationships with internal departments
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Ability to develop, manage, and audit systems and processes
  • Clear and effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of organization
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Outlook/ Excel/Word/PowerPoint), Adobe
  • Experience in JD Edwards, OnBase, HeavyBid, HeavyJob would be considered an asset
  • Adaptability to learn new software
  • Experience in budget analysis and reporting is an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines
  • Strong resourcefulness, organizational and prioritization skills

  • Proficient time management skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong internal and external interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative and team-based environment
  • High level of adaptability to a changing work environment
  • Commissioner of Oaths certification an asset
Working Conditions
  • Travel may be required
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations
  • Overtime as required
  • Compliance with the Colas Canada Inc. Ethics Policy and other policies
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting or related field an asset
  • Adequate experience as a coordinator/administrator in a business environment required
  • Experience within a construction or manufacturing industry would be considered an asset
  • Previous operations coordinator experience is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
