Job Description

At SMS Equipment, our Product Coordinators play a key role in administering construction, forestry, and mining products and attachments. The incumbent will order equipment and attachments, prepare equipment and attachment cost sheets and invoice sales and rentals. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their organization, time management and excellent customer service to the team.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating initial cost of sales accruals (COSA), monitoring open COSA, preparing purchase orders, and deal sheets, and capitalizing elements of costing. Recording cost of sales accruals, balancing the cost of units to be sold, preparing special pricing assistance requests, posting entries and processing write downs as required
  • Preparing general purchase orders for equipment, assisting branches with documentation and processing of stock arrivals and arranging freight through the logistics department. Reconciling the foreign exchange and freight and maintaining a listing of original approved deal sheets
  • Liaising with branches and regional sales employees to assist in processing sales and assisting and participating in cross training on all CSA functions. Reviewing sales documents to confirm amounts to be invoiced.
QualificationsThis position typically requires a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in sales or administration. Additional qualifications include:
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment with strict deadlines and tight schedules
  • Ability to work constructively and positively across departments
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software such Microsoft Office
  • Strong customer service skills, attention to detail and the ability to follow well established processes
  • Equipment distribution, or related industry experience is an asset
