Job Description

Rozen Steelworks specializes in the fabrication of pressure piping, power piping, and structural steel. We have just opened our second shop and are taking on even more project work as we continue to grow. We are currently looking for dedicated, full time Structural Draftsperson to join our Rozen Steelworks team in Acheson, AB.Responsibilities:

  • Prepare structural approval drawings, shop fabrication drawings and erection drawings including, material lists and shipping forms.
  • Prepare structural drawings issued for fabrication and field construction purposes in compliance with applicable building and/or structural code requirements.
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with other disciplines including internal project management, purchasing and manufacturing departments to provide accurate structural approval and detailed production drawings to ensure their requirements are incorporated in the structural drawings.
  • Ensure as-built drawings are prepared.
  • Provide assistance in the development and maintenance of standard structural practice for drafting and fabrication of structures.
  • Provide cutting files for CNC equipment involved in the fabrication process.
Requirements:
  • Possess a diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or other related education.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years drafting experience.
  • Strong understanding of industrial structural steel fabrication.
  • Knowledge of welding Codes CSA W59/W47.1 and materials.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel design, detailing practices and materials for steel structures.
  • Knowledge and experience in industrial CNC fabrication equipment would be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
