You are someone who can work independently. You have strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate your team and ensure efficient, error free operations.The position is based in Acheson, Alberta just 15 minutes west of Edmonton in a newly developed industrial area and will be responsible for the night shift from 9:30pm to 6:30pm.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and distribute order plans, and work closely with the Distribution Manager to prioritize order plans and monitor their completion to facilitate timely and effective warehouse operations.Maintain individual and departmental productivity standards, ensuring compliance with current standards and procedures related to health and safety of employees, and to inventory and building security.Document and communicate any productivity issues to the Shipping Expeditor.Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries, and the sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing shipments, document and resolve discrepancies that arise.Ensure that all quality issues are addressed in a manner that meets Company expectations, reporting problems or discrepancies to the Distribution Manager.Develop and demonstrate good communication practices and successful internal working professional relationships with staff.Collaborate with packaging supervisors to ensure effective floor support is provided.Provide leadership, guidance and/or direction to staff with regard to job duties and responsibilities and provide feedback for performance reviews.Assess the work performance of reporting employees on a regular basis and implement appropriate corrective measures as required and express encouragement and appreciation when appropriate.Participate in annual physical inventory as determined by the Company.Maintain a neat and organized work area according to established corporate policies, practices and safety regulations.Promote awareness and understanding of the Company’s policies, practices and procedures related to health and safety, food safety, and the environment.Ensure compliance with all current processes and accurate and timely reporting of progress as well as any issues that arise while on shift.Perform other duties as required or assigned.RequirementsMinimum 2 years experience with supervising front line staff in a performance-driven, fast paced environmentStrong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others, effective coaching and performance management skillsAble to work and lead with little managerial support and oversight.Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, managers, teammates, and prospective customers.Strong critical thinking ability with good problem identification & resolution skills.Forklift CertificationAbility to pass a Drug & Alcohol and Fit-to-Work test.Ability to clear a Criminal Record Check and provide references.Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with diverse individuals/groups.Strong inventory reconciliation/management skills.Good basic mathematical skills, with ability to accurately weigh and measure items.Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously while working in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail, with ability to accurately complete required paperwork.
