Job Description

At SMS Equipment, our Warranty Coordinators play a key role in branch performance and recovery levels. This position governs, administers and supports policies and directives regarding SMS Equipment’s Warranty Solutions program. Our Warranty Coordinators are analytical, fantastic with communication and have excellent time management skills. We are looking for a candidate who will bring their experience, prioritization and ability to problem solve to our Warranty team located in Acheson AB.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Warranty Program. Fully utilizes and maintains the claim information system to ensure accurate, timely and factual capture of warranty function information. Coordinates and managers the utilization of all necessary and available resources in the investigation, analyses and reporting of the warranty function information.
  • Collaborates with head office management to create, monitor and implement policies to effectively manage workload, support business objectives and maximize productivity. Coordinate with the branch management and branch warranty personnel to govern and administer the extend warranty plan of the company and monitors results.
  • Develop and maintains effective communication and relationships with branches, customers and vendors. Involves management with extended warrant and its ability to deliver the quality and level of service required to meet the business needs of the company.
  • Directs the vision and governance of warrant policy and supports objectives to maximize program outcomes and customer experiences. Communicates the objectives, measures results, coaches’ individual teams for improvement.
Qualifications:The successful candidate will have a Post-secondary technical diploma or journeyman certification in a related field. A combination of equivalent education and related experience may also be considered. Additional qualifications include:
  • Previous warranty experience.
  • Analytical abilities to be applied in examining and determining cause and failure.
  • Strong technical writing abilities. Strong computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally, and in writing, with a variety of individuals or groups.
  • Keen attention to detail with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment application, uses, and components including engines, hydraulic systems, powertrain U/C, electrical systems, and computers would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of parts and parts distribution would be an asset.
