We are a progressive employer, a supportive and dynamic team, and offer: an excellent work environment, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package.Position OverviewHere at All-Fab Edmonton, we are looking to fill the Yard Supervisor Understudy position with a candidate with moderate lumber yard experience that is looking to advance their career. This position will work along side our current yard supervisor to learn all the duties and responsibilities that are required for the position of yard supervisor. You will be learning for a yard supervisor who has 25 years experience that is looking to share that knowledge with our next yard supervisor with the expectation that the understudy will take over the position of yard supervisor in the next 1-3 years. The position oversees all yard operations and receives projects from our Technical Service Representatives and Sales team.Duties/Responsibilities: Ø Ensuring daily yard operations are completedØ Ensure safety compliance within yard operations and ensure safe work practices are being used.Ø Work with Production Manager and TSR Manager to ensure customer service levels are being met on a regular basis.Ø Pick lumber orders in an accurate and timely manner using a forkliftØ Fill out work orders and maintain inventory accuracyØ Load and offload trucks with a forkliftØ Put returned inventory back into stockØ Perform inventory countsØ Ensure pre-use inspections on equipment is completed dailyØ Wear required PPEØ Ensure deadlines are met.Ø Attend and participate in meetings as required.Ø Be a leader and lead by exampleØ Delegation of duties as required.Ø Other duties as required.Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications: Ø Acceptable combination of education and experience.Ø Must take ownership of core responsibilities as assigned and communicate effectivelyØ The desire to complement All-Fab’s sales and TSR teams, communicate well, maintain organization, be highly efficient and be accurate.Ø Previous experience in estimating building materials requiredØ 2 years’ experience working in a lumber yardØ Ability to perform simple mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying) with a high degree of accuracy.Ø Previous forklift experienceØ Experience with Microsoft 365 is an assetDegrees/Certificates and licensesØ Valid class 5 driver’s licenseØ Forklift licensePersonal AttributesØ Professional level of verbal communication skillsØ Ability to work well with all types of personalitiesØ Positive energy and problem-solving approach in all situationsSafetyØ Understand and follow company Health and Safety Policies and ProceduresØ Wear PPE as appropriate while in office, shop, yard or at jobsitesJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $19.00-$23.00 per hourAdditional pay:
