Our focus on inclusiveness and accessibility means we serve people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities through all stages of life.Join Our TeamWe are seeking a Business Consultant to provide one-on-one meetings and group support to entrepreneurs. YMCA Business Consultants are responsible for providing clients with personalized ideation support, business plan writing support, networking, training, and resource allocation support. Our consultants guide, inform, and motivate their clients while improving their entrepreneurial literacy and connection to the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Services are available to all. This position is located at the Ches Penney Family YMCA in St. John’s.Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or related field.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience working in a business advisory or entrepreneurial support role.
  • Firsthand experience operating a small business desirable.
  • Knowledge of community, private, and government resources available to entrepreneurs.
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with many individuals and organizations.
  • Ability to adjust to changing organization, program, job, and participant needs.
  • Ability to effectively deliver presentations to audiences with varied competency/experience.
  • Ability to maintain positive, ongoing working relationships with clients, within professional boundaries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; presentation; organization; and time management skills.
  • Available to work full-time hours and travel when required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Acceptable Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sectors Check
