Our focus on inclusiveness and accessibility means we serve people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities through all stages of life.Join Our TeamWe are seeking a full-time Lead Mental Wellness Facilitator, Y Mind Program. The Lead Wellness Facilitator will work collaboratively with other staff and participants and are responsible for screening and intake of group participants, delivering program sessions online/in-person, connecting virtually with participants once individually following program completion, and providing appropriate community referrals for program participants if needed.Job Requirements

  • Higher level education in mental health or counselling related field (such as a masters in Counselling or Social Work) or equivalent combination of experience and education required (ie. BSW and 3 years’ experience in the field).
  • Experience working with youth (13-30 years of age) experiencing mild-to-moderate anxiety and mood problems.
  • Superior facilitation skills; Experience facilitating mental wellness/psycho-educational groups.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience conducting intakes and assessments.
  • Ability to recognize mental health signs and symptoms beyond the mild-to-moderate spectrum and to provide referrals to appropriate medical and community agencies.
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Experience working with community partners in a development role.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team.
  • Creative, resourceful, enthusiastic, motivational.
  • Acceptable Certificate of Conduct with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Available to work full-time hours and travel when required.
Major Responsibilities
  • Intake of program applicants through online intake.
  • Co-facilitate group sessions online and create a warm, welcoming, and safe group environment.
  • Maintain a strengths-based approach that inspires participants to engage in self-development & change.
  • Meet virtually individually with participants following program completion.
  • Support applicants and participants to contact appropriate referrals to community agencies when necessary.
  • Organization of data for evaluation of program.
  • Program scheduling and administration.
  • Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA standards/ policies/ procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with the YMCA Hub including and completing a post-program report.
  • Other duties as assigned.
