Lead by example and challenge others when appropriate on safety related issues.Project Management: Manage all projects directly or in directly (using others) throughout the full project life cycle, from ‘Project Initiation’ until ‘Project Close Out’. Use Lafarge Holcim’s CAPEX Management Handbook including the relevant processes and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.Resource Management: Coordinate and manage multiple resources, (internal, contractors, specialists, suppliers and experts etc.) and assets/equipment to the best interests of the projects. Ensuring good communication with plant department managers to address and overcome any clashes or problems along the way.Financial Compliance: Estimate the projects using various methods to establish the working budgets. Manage the CAPEX budgets for multiple projects including accumulation of costs and revenue information and conveyance to appropriate levels of management.Leadership: Provide professional and development/coaching to the project team resources on a frequent basis and where required clarify roles and responsibilities. Interact and promote efficient teamwork with the management team, regarding project strategies, best practices, savings opportunities, implementation requirements, and resource requirements.Reporting & Performance: Ensure the tracking of performance indicators and achieved results with the ECAN CAPEX Manager. Provide regular reports and updates to the plant, local/regional bodies as required. Ensure all the needs of project grant submissions are met in a timely fashion.People Management: Inform and motivate maintenance personnel, ensure their availability and performance is according to plant needs and promote their professional development through coaching, individual development plans and training.Maintenance Operations: Participate in weekly maintenance meetings as well as in the major shut-down meeting to coordinate jobs with other departments. Supervise the plant mechanical team in the ‘On-Call’ system. Be willing and able to supervise the mechanical team on an ad-hoc basis.Management – Planning & Cost Control: Contribute to the plant planning processes (PDP, budget & managing other routine expenses). Implement effective and systematic solutions to achieve budget and to meet or exceed targets. Assist the Outage Planner and Maintenance Manager to plan the major shutdown including all capital expenditures, creating underpinning/supporting information and building projects in SAP to manage and control the expectations of the shutdown.Relationship with OthersThis role reports directly to the Plant Manager and has up to five direct reports to consist of the Project Team. This may include Project Engineers, Leaders, Specialists and Students as required.Direct cooperation with internal operations staff, other plants and related external companies (LafargeHolcim, Geocycle, Ministry of Labour, Loyalist Township etc.)Specific Accountabilities:Deliver projects to agreed time, cost and quality metrics.Accurate tracking, monitoring and controlling of all projects within the assigned portfolio.Ensure best value for investment on all Capital expenditures.DimensionsDirect reports: 1-4Qualifications:Required Education: Bachelor's/Undergraduate Degree preferred or comparable experience and/or training. Field of Study Preferred: Engineering or Construction ManagementFormal Project Management qualifications preferred.Professional membership with an Engineering or Project Management body preferred.Required Work Experience: 10 years of project management, Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
