Job Description

Position Summary:Reporting to the Terminal Assistant Manager, this full-time permanent position will be responsible for the operation of the fertilizer plant as well as performing maintenance on equipment essential to the day to day operation. Site maintenance and cleanliness in accordance to Company Policy.

  • Operation and calibration of blending plant equipment
  • Offload product from railcars
  • Maintain site and record maintenance and housekeeping in appropriate log books
  • Adhere to safety protocols and document where possible
  • Ensures equipment is operating properly
  • Creates customer fertilizer blends in accordance to work orders
  • Maintenance of yard site
  • Overtime and irregular hours expected during in-season
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights is mandatory
  • Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Forklift and skid steer experience/tickets would be beneficial
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Communication skills - written and verbal
  • Must live in or close to the town of Biggar SK
