Job Description

The Bulk Chemical Operations Lead is responsible for all aspects of the bulk chemical division, including the assembly, maintenance and repair of bulk chemical tanks. The role involves loading, unloading and delivery of bulk chemicals and tanks to various locations and customers, while adhering to the strict safety standards and handling regulations. Position Responsibilities:

  • Learn and support all operational aspects of bulk chemical systems and operations
  • Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of bulk chemical at our bulk plants, and delivering to customer tanks and retail locations
  • Accurate assembly, maintenance and repair of bulk chemical tanks to prevent leaks and tank failure
  • Delivering and pickup of bulk chemical tanks with picker truck
  • Able to measure and count quantities for proper loading and unloading of bulk chemical
  • Vehicle maintenance and inspections, pre-and-or-post trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and reporting of any issues
  • Regular customer interaction to ensure accurate and timely bulk product delivery, and addressing any questions or concerns
  • Efficient route planning and navigation
  • Safe operation of various equipment including semi-truck, picker truck, pumps, forklift and/or skid steer, and other tools/equipment needed for unloading and securing materials
  • Strapping and securing loads for transport
  • Accurate and timely delivery documentation, including bills of lading and shipping documents, and permits when needed
  • Safe operation and maintenance of pumps
  • Keeping track of inventory for repair parts and ordering from suppliers
  • Manage in-truck inventory related to parts needed for tank set-up and repairs
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Valid Class 1 drivers license and clean driving record is mandatory
  • Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot and repair minor mechanical issues
  • Knowledge of cardlock systems, fuel dispensers and fuel plant operations (training will be provided)
  • Good organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Able to work at heights and climb a ladder without issue
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with difficult customer situations/conversations
  • Able to lift, carry or pull 50lbs using the proper safe-work procedure
  • Reliable and available for after hours and or weekend work when needed and in high season
  • Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions for extended periods
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Experience with liquid chemical handling/hauling will be considered and asset
  • Technical knowledge and practical experience working with pumps will be considered an asset
  • Ability to tear down, repair or rebuild pump systems will be considered an asset
