POSITION SUMMARYOur apprentice pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial production and processing systems. A successful candidate must be willing to travel to our various project sites.Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety”, and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.POSITION LOCATON/ DETAILSVarious scopes of work/locations throughout AlbertaCandidates must be open to local work as well as camp accommodation/ living out allowance depending on where projects are located (must be flexible with travel)CORE ACCOUNTABILITIESRead and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.)Assist journeyman pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe and structural steel onsiteAssemble piping and valves in module and compressor packagePrepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and riggingHydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools in the fabrication facilityMeasure, cut, and thread pipe to required shapeInstall supports, valves, piping and control systemsRemove and replace worn components and reactivate systemQUALIFICATIONSRegistered with the appropriate apprenticeship board as an apprentice pipefitterPrevious experience working as an apprentice in the oilfield industryPrevious construction experienceH2S Alive, CSTS, and Standard First Aid requiredGround Disturbance certification - optional but preferredFall Protection certificationMust successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testingValid driver’s license and a clean driving recordKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of timeCapable of working with small toolsCapable of working as part of a teamFluent in speaking and reading EnglishMust be able to follow directionsWho we areStrike Group is a Canadian company with various locations across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
