Job Description

The Site Superintendent is recognized as an expert in the residential construction industry with demonstrated project successes with the strong ability to delegate work. You will be responsible for executing construction and maintenance projects according to both the companies and client’s safety and quality standards.:Duties and responsibilities: :

    Plan and direct all construction activities from start to move-in:
    Ensure all homes are delivered on time, and within budget. This includes utilization of Company scheduling program:
    Management of subcontractors: to include scheduling, inspection, quality control, and approval of work.:
    Materials management: to include scheduling and checking deliveries, correcting take offs, and insuring proper installation:
    Safety: responsible for on-site implementation and management of Company safety program, to include inspections, toolbox talks, documentation, and reporting:
    Monitors job-site cleanliness and holds subcontractors responsible for daily clean up:
    Managing and providing leadership for safety and environmental programs:
    Providing quality control reporting to the project manager and forecasting 3-4 week forecast ahead schedules:
    Organizing and coordinating all subcontractor activities:
    Supervising and mentoring field personnel:
    Implementing and monitoring the construction plan; including scheduling and logistics:
    Strategically plans and implements manpower levels and material quantities; ensures proper equipment and trades are available as required for self performing initiatives on the site.:
    Assumes a leadership role and provides guidance to project team members in order to contribute to their development and career growth:
    Oversees project reporting that accurately tracks site progress, events, inspections and other relevant information:
:Qualifications:
    Minimum of 5 years residential construction superintendent experience:
    Flexible and adaptable to rapid change.:
    High degree of residential construction knowledge and building codes:
    Strong hands-on manager with good decision making and problem solving skills:
    Good communication skills. Position involves daily interaction with customers, outside agencies, subcontractors, vendors, and company personnel:
    Computer skills (MS Office and Excel).:
    Journeyman/Journeywoman Trade Certification in a related Construction trade will be considered an asset:
    A proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget:
    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to perform a variety of tasks under multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment:
    Demonstrated leadership skills:
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills:
    Combination of work experience and/or technical training in an industry-related trade certification/education program:
    Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to common construction processes:
    Solid understanding of current construction practices; strong working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications and project management:
    Proven ability to guide safe work practices in a high pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule and budget:
    Capable of anticipating constructability issues in moderately complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule:
    Facilitation and mentoring skills. Ability to move the team forward and resolve conflict situations:
    Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license:
