Job Description

Function:The Groomer Operator is responsible for taming fresh snowfalls, rebuilding ski runs and creating a safe and enjoyable experience for the guests.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to operate grooming equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Complete all daily maintenance logs and checklists for equipment
  • Perform shutdown and post operational procedures including necessary documentation for machine maintenance
  • Keep buildings and lift areas clear of hazards and excess snow
  • Ensure and continually develop a high-quality grooming product
  • Report all ski run hazards, both current and potential, to the Kinosoo Operations Coordinator
  • Assist with maintenance on the grooming equipment as required
  • Participate in training skill development clinics as required
  • Assist with the organization, development, and execution of special events
  • Perform general labour and maintenance tasks on the hill
  • Adhere to and be familiar with the Alpine Responsibility Code
  • Participate in any Safety Management/Injury programs and adhere to M.D. Policies and Procedures
  • Perform other related duties as required within the scope of the position

  • Previous grooming experience preferred
  • Previous hill operations experience an asset
  • Previous heavy equipment operations and snow cat experience preferred
  • Mechanically inclined
  • CSIA/CASI certification or equivalent an asset
  • Advanced First Aid & Ski patrol training an asset
  • Two or more years ski / snowboard instruction an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision or in a team environment
  • Committed approach to exceeding guest expectations
  • Stamina, flexibility, and self-discipline to work extended hours as required
  • Hold a minimum of Class 5 driver’s license in good standing
  • Maintain a professional, personable, and positive attitude
  • Ability to obtain a criminal record and vulnerable sector check
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
Working Conditions:
  • High customer volume
  • Primarily work outdoors with exposure to varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds
  • Required to stand for extended periods of time
