POSITION SUMMARYStrike’s labourers assist skilled trade persons and perform labour activities at our various construction and project sites. Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety”, and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.POSITION LOCATIONVarious scopes of work/locations throughout AlbertaCandidates must be open to local work as well as camp accommodation/ living out allowance depending on where projects are located (must be flexible with travel)CORE ACCOUNTABILITIESIdentify and report hazards or unsafe work practicesFuel equipment when neededClean construction work areasWork with equipment operators and civil crew to complete grade and excavation workAssist pipefitters and welders with their workAssist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely moving equipment and provide assistance in other activitiesPerform other activities at construction sites, as directedErect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades required at construction sitesParticipate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize themCorrect unsafe acts and bring unsafe conditions to the attention of the immediate supervisorReturn tools (clean) back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shiftEnsure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasksQUALIFICATIONSGrade 12 or GEDH2S Alive, CSTS, Standard First Aid, OSSA (preferred but not required), Fall protection, and Ground DisturbanceBasic Safety Orientation (BSO)SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIESPrevious Labour experiencePrevious oilfield construction experience would be considered an assetValid driver’s license and a clean driving recordAbility to lift 50 poundsCapable of working with small toolsCapable of working as part of a teamFluent in speaking and reading EnglishMust be able to follow directionsMust be able to get to the designated job sitePrevious experience operating bobcats, skid steer, or case loaders.
