Job Description

Description: Maintenance team members play a key role in ensuring that Northview’s buildings show pride of ownership and respect for our residents, by making sure they are kept in good repair, and that maintenance issues are resolved in a timely and cost efficient mannerResponsibilities:Ensuring the safety of common areas, and complying with Northview’s Health and Safety requirementsWith a focus on customer service, troubleshoot and prioritize work orders and handle emergency situationsDrywall repairs, painting prep and paintingMinor electrical repairsMinor plumbing repairs, including boiler checks and hot water tank replacements where applicablePerform water and sewer line repairs where applicableDealing with subcontract labourMaintain company vehicle where applicableAssisting with and or performing suite renovations and other upgradesMoving furniture, equipment, materials and supplies, including clearing of vacant unitsMaintain clean vacant lots, removal of garbage and debris from building and groundsMaintain tools and equipmentSnow removal and ice control from all entrances/exits and walkways as requiredDelivery of notices to building residents and posting of notices in common areasCompletion of suite inspectionsAssisting with the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programsOther related duties as assigned by the managerQualifications:Able to work independently, is a self-starter and takes pride in a job well doneThree years' previous experience in building maintenanceProven ability to work productively and safely while under pressureGood customer service skills and pleasant demeanorAn ability to speak and write English fluentlyAble to lift up to 100lbsAble to provide a criminal record check free of relevant convictionsHold a valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstractFlexible schedule, able to work on call and weekends as needed
