Job Description

The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for the position of Records Management Coordinator. This position is responsible for the implementation, promotion, and maintenance of a comprehensive records and information management program.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Manager of Information Technology with obtaining the requirements of the municipal records management program including:
  • Technical guidance
  • Legislative requirements
  • Best practice options
  • Records information management software technical support, including implementation, design, and development.
  • The collection, use, disclosure, retention, storage, destruction and archiving of municipal data.
  • Provide technical support to implement, design and develop software for a records management system.
  • Collect, use, disclose, retention, storage, destruction, and archiving of municipal data.
  • Maintain and update the documentation for the municipal records management program.
  • Review and update records management processes.
  • Update the municipality’s Personal Information Directories in accordance with legislation and Provincial Government Standards.
  • Complete special information and records management projects.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma/Certificate in Records/Information Management program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a lead role in Records Management.
  • 3 years’ experience designing, implementing, and managing a municipal records management system.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Municipal Government Act is an Asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Membership with ARMA (Association of Records Managers and Administrators) would be an asset.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
  • Work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
