Job Description

Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position:S2122-58 Speech Language Pathologist - Cold Lake/Bonnyville/Lac La Biche Area SchoolsThis is a full-time (1.0 fte) position commencing as soon as possible. This assignment involves serving as part of the NLPS Student Support Services Team; to assist school teams to develop strategies and action plans, to strengthen inclusive practices, and better meet the diverse learning needs of all students. This assignment will operate out of a Cold Lake, Bonnyville, or Lac La Biche Area School.Preference will be given to applicants who posses:

  • Post-Secondary training a
  • Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent.
  • Membership with Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologist and Audiologist (ACSLPA).
  • Minimum of one year experience with the school-age population.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of principles, guidelines, concepts and, procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency in computers.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to supervise Therapist Assistants.
Duties of the Speech Language Pathologist will include:
  • Liaise with division personnel and parents in a team focused approach.
  • Administer, score and interpret standardized speech language assessments.
  • Provide intervention strategies (universal, targeted and specialized) and program development.
  • Contribute to student IPP development and program planning.
  • Facilitate professional development for parents, teachers and educational assistants.
