If you #39;re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you #39;re in the right place.Job DescriptionAbout you and this role - What you will do in this roleThe EH amp;S Technician shares responsibility for the implementation of the EH amp;S management system, in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provides hands-on environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H amp;S) activities for a specific plant. Requires full proficiency in a range of technical, operational, or analytical/scientific processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience to perform a variety of work assignments. Acts as an informal resource for team members with less experience.Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role- Implements detailed, task level, day to day EH amp;S programs, utilizing the EH amp;S work process, standards and procedures.- Ensures that the Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH amp;S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the EH amp;S sections of operating discipline.- Acts as the Plant resource for related EH amp;S information on procedures, guidelines and standards.- Serves as plant contact for Environmental, IH, and Health and Safety issues.- Coaches teams and individuals on EH amp;S related tasks and activities.- Assists in developing and achieving area or plant EH amp;S goals.- Ensures compliance tasks are completed.- Performs/coordinates certain Environmental, and IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.- A minimum of 5 years of EH amp;S, OH amp;S or other relevant experience.- A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in the Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.The Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation if the position is offered to someone who lives outside the area or reimbursement for travel to and from test sessions or interviews.
