If you #39;re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you #39;re in the right place.We are seeking candidates for exciting and rewarding Electrician RAP (Registered Apprentice Program) student placement available at our facility inFort Saskatchewan, Alberta.RAP students will participate in a 5 month work term (Feb- June) offering hands-on work experience in our chemical plants and will be indentured into the Alberta Apprenticeship Program. During the program, RAP students will receive a wage.About you and this role - What you would do in this role.Electricians install, maintain and repair all types of electrical equipment used in industrial processing. They work with a wide variety of electrical equipment, motors, starters, breakers, wiring at many different voltage levels to support the process plants.Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would learn about in this role.- Maintaining and repairing all types of electrical systems.- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and replacing defective components on electrical systems.- Reading electrical, logic, and loop diagrams.- Electronic troubleshooting and repair skills.- Procedure use - this includes field use, review, revision, and development of procedures.Qualifications - Required education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves).- MUST work with local RAP Coordinator or school counsellor to confirm eligibility to RAP program.- All roles require a current, valid Canadian driver #39;s license. Please note that before being cleared to report to work, you will be required to successfully complete a Motor Vehicle Records check to verify the status of your driver #39;s license.- A minimum requirement for this Canadian based position is the ability to work legally in Canada.Willing and able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.- Be able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights.- Be able to work in tight or closed-in spaces.- Essential functions of this position may require, among other things, that the employee use particular types of equipment -- such as on-site safety equipment that has specific weight limitations whereby the individual #39;s own weight, plus the weight of tools and other items and materials, must not exceed a certain threshold.
