Job Description

AGAT Laboratories is a full-service laboratory with locations across Canada. We are the most diversified laboratory in Canada. With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors.Geotechnical Technician – Entry Level - Full TimeAGAT Laboratories is currently looking for a Geotechnical Technician for a full time entry-level opportunity. The role is a junior level position and will assist in data collection and running of geotechnical tests. This position is given direction from the Supervising Geotechnical Engineer and Managers.Duties:

  • Carry out lab testing according to standards and lab procedures.
  • Report lab observations to the geotechnical engineer.
  • Assist in maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and traverse uneven terrain.
  • Able to work overtime, and weekends, if needed.
  • Ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strict adherence to procedure
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written communication
  • Experience working in a laboratory setting (not required but considered an asset)
  • 1+ years of soils, aggregate, and/or concrete testing experience (not required but considered an asset)
Work Environment:This position requires a person to stand, sit and lift throughout the shift in a laboratory environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. Employees will interact with dust, noise and chemicals during shifts.
