Occupational Therapist for new LTC Home!SILVERADO CREEK SENIORS’ COMMUNITY7 Silverton Way SW, CalgaryJob Type: Maternity CoverageStart Date: May 1, 2024 at the latestTemporary Part TimeDriven to make a differenceSilverado Creek Seniors Community in Calgary is open, and we are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our team and to support the residents, families, and teams in the following activities.

  • Assessing and implementing individual resident goal-based programs to assist residents to regain and/or maintain an optimal level of independence.
  • Assess for equipment and mobility needs (ambulation, aides, transfers, toileting, bed mobility)
  • Assess for falls and pain risk and make recommendations to prevent
  • Assess and make applications for AADL equipment such as seating and cushioning to ensure skin and musculoskeletal integrity, prevent falls, provide comfort, reduce agitation, and support breathing.
  • Provide recommendations for therapy programs for each resident.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to support the PPSL Care Model and residents’ choice.
Qualifications include:
  • Graduate of an approved school of occupational therapy. Two (2) years recent related experience, preferably as an occupational therapist working with the elderly is an asset.
  • Current practicing registration with the applicable provincial registering body. Experience in a senior’s care environment.
  • An AADL approved authorizer is an asset
  • Note that Days and hours of work are flexible
