Job Description

Position Overview Spark is currently recruiting a full-time permanent Specialist, Social Media, PRamp; Events to join the Marketing team. The role reports directly to the Marketing Manager, and supports the development and implementation of a full-cycle annual marketing program for Spark. This role requires strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, and have an eagerness to learn, contribute ideas, meet deadlines, and grow professionally as part of a high performing team. This role is for a dynamic lover of all thing’s social media, with expertise in content creation, data, video editing, social media trends and platforms, lives for planning and executing fun events and has experience with PR and Media relations. This position requires relationship building internally and externally to help tell the brand story of Spark and engage ever-expanding audiences. It involves multiple marketing channels and will support the science centre to become on the top 10 most-worth-visiting science centres on the world. Key ResponsibilitiesHelp plan, coordinate and execute a year-round range of marketing programs and campaigns.Execute a results-driven social media strategy.Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms. This includes Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter and more.Plan and execute creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.Plan, attend and measure events and produce live social media content.Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels.Collaborate with marketing team to create a social media calendar and events calendar.Monitor social media channels for industry trends.Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.Ensure team activities are aligned with business and strategic goals of Spark as a whole.Model high performance, flexibility and kindness in a rapidly changing growth environment.Manage, build and plan media, marketing and VIP events with support from Marketing manager.Manage, plan and attend offsite outreach brand events and outings.Meet with and coordinate with the media for stories, videos and tracking.Track and report on Media and PR.Other duties as required and assigned.Qualificationsamp; KnowledgeA minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of adding value to diverse social media campaigns and events.A solid understanding of guest engagement, memberships, sales, events.Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and able to use most platforms.A self-starter with strong analytical skills to analyze metrics and respond with agility to evolving trends.Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools.Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, digital media formats, and HTML.Excellent social listening skills.Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space and track and report.Strong copywriting, planning and copy-editing skills.Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills.Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask with enthusiasm.Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Ability to work weekends and evenings as required for events.Culture at Spark Spark’s goal is to become one of the top 10 most-worth-visiting science centres in the world.
