Community:Cambridge BayReference number:051-230922-CHRBUS-15171Type of employment:IndeterminateType of Employment 2:If there is no successful Nunavut Inuit this position will be offered as a 3 year term.Union Status:ExcludedSalary:$122,992 to $139,571 per annumNorthern Allowance:$19,716 per annumSubsidized staff housing availableClosing Date:Friday, September 23, 2022 - 11:59pmThis employment opportunity is open to all applicants.Reporting to the Dean, Health and Wellness, the Chair, Business Programs is responsible for the planning, direction, management, program delivery, administration and evaluation of all Business instructional programs across Nunavut. These include programs such as Management Studies, Computer Systems Technician, and Office Administration Programs.The incumbent will work with other senior staff of the College in the planning of all Business instructional programs. These programs can vary from short non-credit programs to a two-year diploma program. This position will work to meld Business program goals with Inuit and Indigenous Entrepreneurship and consider diverse outreach and engagement strategies. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creating collaborative partnerships with stakeholders such as Indigenous business and governance organizations, to small businesses and other finance and administration organizations at a range of scales to meet the training and educational needs of students and employers in Nunavut. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying emerging trends in the field and developing student orientated courses and programs that are flexible, innovative, and correspond with employment opportunities in finance, administration, business, and community development throughout Nunavut.Successful applicants are required to have the following:

  • A Master’s Degree in a Business related field, Finance or Education;
  • A minimum of three (3) years direct experience managing staff, finances, and other program resources, preferably in an education setting;
  • A minimum of two (2) years in the following areas of education programming for adult learners: program development and program evaluation methods;
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising and/or developing staff, leading a team/projects, or overseeing the work of consultants/contractors;
  • Experience in preparing and managing a large program budget;
  • Professional Teaching Credentials would be a definite asset; and
  • Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages is considered an asset.
