Submit proof of COVID-19 immunization with your application.Reporting to the Medical Travel Supervisor, the Medical Travel Specialist is responsible for arranging, coordinating, and recording transportation services. It will have a major influence on the financial resources of the travel budget and the Department of Finance budget for the GN employee Medical Travel Assistance Program. The position must be proactive in making decisions within the often, conflicting demands and tasks of this position. Exercising tact and discretion, demonstrating the ability to work in a professional manner and preserving the confidentiality of traveler’s personal information are required. The position will significantly contribute to the overall success of the unit coordinating by, recording and providing travel arrangements.The Medical Travel Specialist ensures the provision of efficient, timely and cost-effective medical travel; operate a comprehensive referral service for non-government and non-insured residents to health facilities and boarding homes; maintain records of travel and accommodation use; and the position is responsible for the financial management of a department corporate credit card.The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a High School Diploma, along with two (2) years’ experience working in an office environment.This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset.
