Kuugaq Café is a young, fresh, and dynamic team working together to provide fresh, healthy, and delicious meals for our community. We set our menu daily depending on stock and availability, often using country food such as musk ox, caribou, moose, and arctic char.We are looking for a Cook who will oversee the various kitchen aspects of our café. The cook will manage and work closely with other Cook and other food preparation workers to create menu items and determine food inventory needs. The successful candidate will take part in the creation of recipes and preparation of advanced items, while assigning other tasks to the Line Cook. The successful candidate will oversee continued efficiency of the kitchen and production of consistent quality food and baked goods.As this is a small establishment the first cook will also be responsible for taking orders by using the point of sale system, preparing drink orders including using the espresso machine, and cleaning up during slow times in the morning and afternoons. Other duties include accounting (specifically food costing), customer interaction, possible customer complaints, and cash close out at the end of the day.We are looking for term positions as well as full time permanent.
