Submit proof of COVID-19 immunization with your application.Reporting to the Manager Health Records, the Medical Travel Clerk provides specific support to individuals going on medical travel and the Supervisor by ensuring documentation is completed correctly in a timely manner and engaging with community members and individuals going on medical travel.The Medical Travel Clerk prepare travel documents (medical travel referral forms) for review by Supervisor; verify that travel documents are completed correctly with appropriate signatures and forwarded to the regional medical travel office; notify clients of upcoming appointments and travel arrangements; troubleshoot medical travel issues such as canceled flights and canceled appointments; filing/pulling charts/photocopying; organize received appointment notifications and record keeping; complete medical travel evacuation paperwork; answer phone calls concerning medical travel questions; liaise with in-territory and out of territory case managers and referral coordinators on upcoming and outstanding appointments; liaise with the Supervisor and Director of Health Programs concerning medical travel approvals and appeals; and maintain strict confidentiality of all travelers.The knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a completion of Grade 10 and two (2) years clerical experience providing direct customer service.This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position.
