The Territorial Health Education Manager will direct the territorial health education team for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of the orientation and training plans which supports healthcare professionals, paraprofessionals, administration and support services teams working in the community health centres; and play a critical role in the healthcare system as the overall goal of the position is to support Health’s strategic goal of developing and maintaining a competent, sufficient, appropriate and well-supported health workforce.The activities of the Territorial Health Education Manager will align with departmental and legislative policies, values, and mandates of the Government of Nunavut and prioritize opportunities to advance the Department of Health’s Inuit Employment Plan. It is through the strategic direction and leadership of the Health Education Team, that the Manager ensures that Nunavut’s health workforce is highly skilled and competent. The Manager is also required to use a systems perspective that is rooted in continuous quality improvement to ensure that quality practice and clinical standards are consistently met and healthcare excellence is maintained.The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Nursing with eligibility for current registration with RNANTNU as either a registered Nurse or nurse practitioner; five (5) years of clinical nursing practice with at least two (2) years of related educator experience in a healthcare context and three (3) years of management experience.The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset.
