Job Description

Position SummaryThis position will work collaboratively under the leadership of the Office Manager, to perform the day-to-day Accounts Payable duties and other necessary accounting functions in order for the accounting cycle to run smoothly, while supporting the ongoing success of Sovereign Fusion.You are an independent, hands-on individual with solid personal values that wants to build on success, you have a positive attitude, are organized, detailed oriented and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You like to work hard, and place a high value on accuracy and efficiency.Essential FunctionsAccounts Payable:

  • Daily receipt of packing slips, invoices, and expense account coding
  • Accurately posting AP-transactions
  • Running reports as required to verify entries
  • Reconciling vendor statements, maintaining vendor accounts, follow-up with invoice discrepancies, and employee expense report reconciliations,
  • Assist management team with inquiries and resolution of issues, maintaining filing systems for vendors
  • Work to achieve goals and objectives set out each year by the Office Manager, communicating progress through out the year
  • Receive invoices and reconcile receipts
  • Reconciling/matching monthly visa statements
  • Match and verify invoices with packing slips and purchase orders
  • Confirm general ledger accounting when expensing invoices
  • Inputting vendor costs into open project costing
  • Ensure HST amounts are accurate and appropriate taxes are paid on invoices
  • Ensure payment deadlines are met
Office Administration:
  • Provide support to the office team
  • Answer inbound telephone and email inquiries as required
  • Assist with inbound/outbound mail and courier services if required
  • Create and update records to ensure accuracy and validity of information
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 2+ years in a similar role/industry
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, Sage50/Simply Accounting and QuickBooks
