At Lafarge Canada Inc., safety comes first, collaboration matters and diversity is celebrated with people who share our desire to continually make our materials better.Do you have the drive, the skills, and the passion to join usOverview:The duties of a Loader Operator include, but are not limited to, the following:Responsibilities:Fully trained in the operations and capability of a front end wheel loaderMay require considerable physical activity, must be capable of heavy lifting, bending and twistingAssist with a variety of job operationsEnsure the safety of company personnel, the community, and environmentResponsible for completing daily equipment checklistMonitoring and ensuring accurate weightsMonitor material production within specificationsEnsure consistent feed to maintain a quality productCreate an atmosphere of teamworkSeek out and implement Best PracticesSafety and EnvironmentAdhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies – training providedMaintenanceOperate and perform routine maintenance on their loader including, includes washing and cleaning the operator’s cab inside and out, greasing, refueling, changing oil and filters, and maintaining all fluid levelsResponsible for updating and maintaining all equipment service records for any piece of equipment operated, keeping accurate and thorough records of the maintenance performed, the hours on the unit, date, time, etc.; complete proof of regular service may be requiredQualifications:Five plus years of industry experience. Heavy machinery / equipment experience around asphalt plants preferredEnvironmentAll spills must be first contained and the proper authorities notified immediately thereafter (follow written procedure)SafetyContribute toward the overall success of the safety program by following set rules procedures and practicesIdentify and report workplace hazards and make positive suggestions for their elimination or controlGenerally, perform duties in the safest manner prescribedRequired PPE must be worn at all timesOtherThis position will require weekend work and may include night shifts.
