JOB POSTING – CROSS SITES,LISTOWEL & WINGHAMPOSITION POSTING # L22-90POSITION: Manager of Information TechnologyUNIT: Information TechnologySTATUS: Full-TimeSTART DATE: As soon as possibleSALARY RANGE: As this is a new position, the rate is currently under reviewPOSITION SUMMARY:The Manager of Information Technology provides highly technical and specialized guidance and support relating tocomputers, peripherals and applications in a complex environment. This includes focusing on networking, servermanagement, backup solutions, telecommunications, wireless components, interfacing, and specialized hospitalsoftwarehardware. The incumbent will be highly organized and have the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment and install and implement application softwarehardware in an optimal manner. As a leader you areaccountable for contributing to the delivery of the organizations’ strategic directions including consistentlydemonstrating an awareness and promotion of staff and patient/family centered engagement and care. Working andleading a strong team, the Manager of Information Technology provides leadership, vision and oversight for informationtechnology with a focus on service excellence, coaching/mentoring, relationship building (internally and regionally),strategic innovation planning, and fostering consensus at all levels of the organization to ensure IT objectives achieved.QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Computer Sciences with preference to candidates with SQL Coding Language 3 – 5 years Leadership Experience with preference to candidates with management courses in healthcare 5 years’ experience with developing and implementing information technology systems / healthcare clinicalapplications at different levels within an organizationEFFORT: Minimum physical effort Extensive Degree of mental effortPOSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Monitoring, deploying and maintaining hospital information systems, disaster recovery planning, ensuringquality information systems and developing strategic and operational plans consistent with internalrequirements and regional HIS planning Review server logs, examine server disk space, manage interfaces pertaining to inter-hospital applications,review integrity of electronic health record information, ensure integrity of backup systemsRegularly review all information technology systems, processes and procedures to optimize and proactivelydevelop new solutions. Develop and maintain policies for the IT department and corporate information system. Ensure the lowest possible downtime and outages while ensuring appropriate downtime procedures andrecovery response systems are in place. Rapidly respond to requests for technical assistance in person, viaphone or electronically and provide resolutions accordingly. Leading a strong IT staff and managing the daily department operations.
