In Canada, SGS employs over 2,000 team members across 70 locations.Job DescriptionCorporation’s Empress Gas Plant office is recruiting for an Operator, Gas Plant to join the team. This position is a shift-based role rotating between days and nights (12 hour shifts). The Operator, Gas Plant position reports to the Operations Foreman. Empress is a gas processing facility consisting of a 1.2 BCF Extraction Plant, NGL Fractionation, Propane Rail Loading, Ethane Cavern storage and NGL truck loadingResponsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Participate in startup activities;
• Start up, operate, and shut down unit operations within the gas plant as well as the entire plant with expertise;
• Identify and troubleshoot process upsets, take proportional action to resolve issues;
• Call out maintenance for equipment repairs, ensure the priority level for repairs is communicated as required;
• Proactively look for cost savings opportunities and relay them to the team during operations meetings;
• Incident reporting;
• Work with a safety conscious attitude; and
• Contribute to a team environment that values equity, inclusion & diversity.

.Qualifications

• Preference will be given to those individuals who have completed 3th Class Power Engineering, Gas Plant Operator or SOLIS training courses; 2nd Class Power Engineering certificate would be an asset:
• Industry experience, Cryogenic – Extraction Plant, Fractionation, or Cogeneration experience would be an asset;
• Panel/DCS experience; would be an asset;
• Leadership experience would be an asset;
• Familiar with all aspects of the operations and established procedures;
• Continual dedication to on-going training and development;
• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills;
• Ability to multi-task and maintain a flexible attitude to accommodate the variable duties of the position;
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications;
• Minimum of a Class 5 driver’s license.

This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.
