About the Windsor Elms Village (Falmouth, NS): Windsor Elms Village is an Eden Registered Home with a resident- directed philosophy of care. It builds on a rich history and reflects our commitment to continue to evolve to meet the emerging needs of seniors in Nova Scotia. We will continue to embrace life, provide compassionate support and encourage meaningful relationships with residents, families, staff and the community. We are creating a home environment where residents can continue to grow and experience the fullness of life.Creating a Sense of Home: We are home to 108 residents. At Windsor Elms Village there are three distinct neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has four houses of nine residents. With such a diverse group of residents, you will find each house has its own character. At WEV, we strive to create flexibility that mirrors life in the communities and homes our residents have known.Dishwasher: We are seeking a Part Time Dishwasher to work in our Home. Additional shifts and cross training in other roles within the kitchen and Home may be available.About the RoleThe Dishwasher/Cleaner is responsible for washing dishes, pots and pans generated by the cooks, cook helpers, café person as well as staff meals. They are also responsible for the daily cleaning tasks for the Central Kitchen. Additional support may be provided to kitchen staff under their direction as needed.Strengths of the successful applicant must include being a team player with a positive attitude who adheres to food safety and infection control standards.Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Food Handlers certification required (current or Strictly adheres to infection control and food safety willing to obtain within 3 months of hire) standards
  • Foodservice experience an asset Proven work ethic
  • Motivated and self-directed Knowledgeable of the various diets and textures
  • Friendly, professional and demonstrates skills in Demonstrates an interest in improving knowledge by customer service attending available educational opportunities
  • Organized and able to multi-task Excellent attendance record
  • Displays a positive attitude and behavior Knowledge of therapeutic diets and textures an asset
  • Excellent communication skills Proven strong initiative
  • Reliable and dependable Understand and demonstrates strong teamwork abilities
