The Pipeline and Tank Integrity Inspector is accountable for the implementation of the Suncor Pipeline and Tank Integrity Programs. If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, we would love to hear from you!This role will provide leadership, direct support, and supervise of the activities described in the Suncor Pipeline and Tank Integrity Program and report on regulatory compliance.Minimum Requirements:

  • Ten+ years of related inspection experience
  • Alberta In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certification
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • API 653 Tank Inspector certification
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Responsibilities:
  • Expert knowledge of the Pipeline and Tank Integrity Programs
  • Be knowledgeable of the Alberta Pipeline Act, CSA Z662, API 650, API 653, API 580, API 579, and API 570.
  • Demonstrate leadership and the ability to use influence on progress inspection initiatives
  • Be able to use SAP applications to manage WR, IR, MOC & Action Management Notifications
  • Competency in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodology and perform Remaining Life Assessment (RLA) / Fitness for Service (FFS) assessment
  • Sound working knowledge of CSA Z662 and API 653, API Standards & Recommended Practices, ASTM standards and NACE standards.
  • Working knowledge and experience on Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods, Cathodic Protection (CP) and Protective Coating systems.
  • Effective communication with Maintenance, Operations, Process and Reliability Engineering teams (Firebag, Mackay River, Fort Hills, & Calgary).
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of our Firebag location, which is our largest in situ operation and one of the largest in the world (and located 120 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta)
  • This is a camp-based position with flights from Calgary, Edmonton or Saskatoon
  • The shift schedule is a 4 days on / 3 days off rotation: 10-hour shifts
  • This position is safety sensitive
