Job Description

Operating from its’ main operations in Fort McKay, BME provides vac, water, waste, fuel and flat bed hauling services to industrial and commercial customers.When you join our team, you join a family of employees dedicated to a safe, enjoyable, and a positive work environment.Job Summary:Operating from Syncrude site locations, this position involves the transportation of our Mobile Wash Cars and generators; Moving, and safe operation of a variety of equipment including, but not limited to Single Axle Flat Tilt Deck. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates with previous hauling/towing experience.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operating a flat deck single axel or a class 3 truck to relocate wash carts throughout the plant and mine at Syncrude Base and Aurora.
  • Moving light equipment (wash cars, generators, and light duty trucks) in a congested mining environment in adverse conditions, as well as to and from site locations.
  • Set up, tear down wash carts.
  • Minor maintenance on wash carts.
  • Light cleaning/housekeeping of both wash carts and equipment.
  • Safely operate Tilt deck in a mining environment and within guidelines outlined in BME Driving Policies.
  • Proper use, application and storage of chemicals when required and in accordance with SDS, BME Policies/Procedures.
  • Operate equipment in a safely manner in accordance with BME and client driving requirements.
  • Notify management immediately of equipment/vehicle deficiencies or needs for repairs.
  • Completion of daily documentation, including but not limited to, customer work orders, field level Hazard assessment, pre/post trip inspections, Near Miss and Hazard IDs
  • Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a valid Minimum Class 3 driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Minimum 3 years experience (including operations of up to 18 speed manuals).
  • Previous experience operating Tilt decks, hauling/towing trailers on and off road, as well as winching.
  • Mine driving experience in an asset.
  • Load securement and transportation knowledge.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • CSTS and OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification.
  • Valid WHMIS Certification.
  • Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
Schedule and Compensation:
  • 7 days on and 7 days off shift rotation (day or night)
