Job Description

Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner’s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.Greenstone Mine is seeking a Construction Health and Safety Senior Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Health and Safety Senior Coordinator, the Construction Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing guidance for health and safety readiness and reporting requirements.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Provide leadership in health and safety management and assist in reinforcing Greenstone Mine’s health and safety culture Participate to the development of the health and safety strategy, programs, and procedures for the Greenstone Mine construction phase, leveraging any relevant safety programs and procedures from the Joint Venture partners and ensuring that all programs and procedures meet all application health and safety laws and regulations Participate to the development of Contractor requirements for Health & Safety and participate in the review of bidders Health and Safety management plans and safety performance during construction tender processes Participate in the definition and establishment of all required training programs for the Construction Phase Provide functional oversight of health and safety requirements and programs including conducting on-site inspections Coordinate with the construction team to establish the requirements for contractor mobilization, including inductions and training records Provide guidance for health and safety reporting requirements Provide guidance to the preparation of Health and safety reporting requirements for the construction phase Participate in engineering design safety reviews as requiredSKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Bilingual – French/English is considered an asset Self-motivated and safety conscious Ability to prioritize multiple tasks Ability to work independently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Candidates must demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills Demonstrates as strong attention to detail Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality Strong analytical skills Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environmentEXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION High school diploma/General Education Diploma (GED) or combination of education and pertinent work-related experience Professional designation is an asset Working knowledge and experience with health and safety legislation, rules, regulations and reporting processes and procedures Advanced knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations for mines and process plants Minimum 10 years experience in a health and safety roleLOCATIONThis position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.We thank all candidates for their applications, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Greenstone Gold Mines is committed to inclusiveness, equity, and accessibility.
